Monick Trail Easement

On December 2, 2010, the Countryside Conservancy finalized a 920ft. right-of-way agreement to gain control over the Trolley Trail from Clarks Summit all the way to Dalton Borough!

In the works for 13 years, this keystone agreement marks the culmination of a vision by Conservancy founder Rosamond "Roz" Peck to reconnect the Abingtons with a non-motorized recreational trail. While the Conservancy works to secure additional segments of Trolley Trail from Dalton to Factoryville and on to Lake Winola, we are moving into the construction phase on the first three miles (Clarks Summit to Dalton) to fix some drainage issues, install trailheads and make the trail accessible to as many people as possible.

The Conservancy would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Barbara Monick for her generous and much-needed donation. The residents of the Abingtons and beyond will forever benefit from the cooperation and forward-thinking of Mrs. Monick and all of the landowners that have granted access to the Trolley Trail!
